"For over 20 years, we have granted scholarships to more than 1,200 students - vocational and other levels," said Isra Sunthornvipart, ExxonMobil Ltd's community relations adviser.
While the programme aims to instil new knowledge to vocational students so they may come up with innovative ideas, poor undergraduate students in engineering and related sciences are also being promoted.
Isra said the programme primarily focused on poor students, regardless of their grades, in the belief that those with good grades can always find opportunities but those with good intentions but have poor grades rarely can.
Covered in the approximate Bt10-million annual budget are also the plans to build dykes nationwide.
Recently introduced in Thailand is the Global Women in Management programme, executed to developing countries by the ExxonMobil Foundation,
Four Thai women have joined the month-long training programme in Washington DC in the past four years.
The programme is designed to help improve leadership skills of female non-profit managers. The first awardee was working for the Population & Community Development Association.
Applications are by invitation only as these women are required to represent established non-profit organisations.
They must also share the passion for improving their communities and a commitment to strengthening women's leadership to help move the country forward.
At overseas workshops, they learn many skills including fund-raising and share experiences with counterparts from other countries.
