Stem cell lab opens in Thailand

Cryoviva (Thailand) has been officially launched as the country's largest storage of stem cells from cord blood, aiming to cash in the burgeoning growth of Thailand's medical services.

Cryoviva is a joint venture between Indorama Group (Thailand) and R.J. Corp. (India) with licensed technology from world leaders Cryobank International USA.

Cryoviva has already completed the validation and approval following the standard operating procedures for Cryo-preservation of Cord Blood Stem Cells, which are prepared as per guideline of America Association of Blood Bank, said Vatchara Phanchet, chairman of Cryoviva (Thailand).

Ratchnee O Charoen, the medical director, noted that the company aims to be the most reliable company for Cord Blood Stem Cells cryo-preservation, with key focus on personalised services thus making Cryoviva the most trusted partner.

She also said Cryobanks Scientific and Medical Board of Advisors include some of the most illustrious names in the industry like Dr. Elaine Gluckman, who performed the first successful cord blood trans plant in the world.
