House speaker files complaint against senior police

House Speaker Yongyuth Tiyapairat's lawyer filed a complaint Wednesday with police against Metropolitan Police Division deputy commander Pol Col Suwan Ekpho for his involvement in electoral fraud investigation against him.

Picha Vichitsil, the lawyer accused Suwan of violating the Criminal Code, Election Commission Act, and MP and Senator Election Act.

He said Suwan investigated electoral fraud without official endorsement as an investigator by the Election Commission.

Suwan is the fifth person being accused by Yongyuth after four people, including three Election Commissioners had earlier been accused of committing wrongdoing for disqualifying Yongyuth as an MP.
