Budget airline Nok Air recently said it was co-branding flight operations with SGA Airlines in the first collaboration of its kind in the country.

"We're very pleased and very excited with our co-branding flight-operation initiative, which will undoubtedly benefit both Nok Air and SGA passengers," said SGA chief executive Jain Charnnarong.

"Together, we'll offer all of our passengers the convenience of air travel and one-stop flight reservations to destinations that are not accessible by jet plane," he said.

The co-branding further connects Nok Air flights between major cities and regional destinations, expanding the airline's steadily growing domestic network even more.

"Arriving on a Nok Air flight in Chiang Mai, passengers will board SGA's Cessna 208B Grand Caravan aeroplane and then truly enjoy an unseen panoramic flight to the charming destinations of either Chiang Rai or Pai", Jain said.

Under the co-branding initiative, SGA's Cessnas and its pilot have been thoroughly checked by Captain Sanjai Boonma, executive vice president for flight operations at Nok Air, and the maintenance authorities of Thai Airways International.

The aircraft will continue to be maintained by SGA's Maintenance Department, which is the certified maintenance centre for Cessnas in Thailand.

Nok Air CEO Patee Sarasin said starting yesterday, Nok Air and SGA passengers could reserve seats via www.nokair.com or the call centre at 1318 for flights between Bangkok and four destinations, including Pai, Chiang Rai and Hua Hin.

The service uses two Cessna 208B Grand Caravan aeroplanes, each with a capacity of 12 and decorated in Nok Air's dynamic style and colours.
