The minister will also lead a British trade mission in talks with Commerce Minister Mingkwan Sangsuwan and Industry Minister Suwit Khunkitti.
The three-day visit is the trade minister's first to Thailand since democratic government was restored.
British business is keen to take on the "exciting opportunities provided by Thailand's rapidly expanding economy", said the UK group.
Its delegates include representatives from top firms such as Standard Chartered Bank, BG Group, GlaxoSmith Kline and BAE Systems.
The minister will also meet with a number of Thai companies that have significant investments in the UK, including Thai Beverage, Landmark and CP Group.
"The Thai market is already a significant one for us. We are the largest European investor with a net value of £2 billion [Bt124 billion] and we want to ensure we maintain the number one spot,"Lord Digby Jones said.
