VAT remains at 7% until 2010
The Cabinet on Tuesday approved the Finance Ministry's plan to maintain value added tax at 7 per cent until 2010.
VAT was earlier planned to be raised to 10 per cent after September 30, 2008. The increase of the spending taxes would however jeopardise spending, in times of low purchasing power.
