Royal Thai Police to get real-time access to criminal information

Published on March 24, 2008

Very soon, 1,500 police stations throughout the Kingdom will be able to access criminal information in real-time using a new Criminal Record Information and Management Enterprise System.

Called "CRIME" for short, the new system will help the Royal Thai Police not only reduce the complexity of access to information, but also avoid human error.

Kraikron Settakraikun, consultant for Royal Thai Police, said the Royal Thai Police will invest Bt294 million to set up CRIME.

He said CRIME will allow the police to access information via a web-based system and enable them to get arrest warrants directly from criminal courts bypassing police headquarters.
