CAT will link with Total Access Communication (DTAC) on one side and True Move and Hutchi-son-CAT on the other to develop the 3G service on their existing 850 MHz spectrum bands and High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) technology, said CAT president Phisal Jorpochaudom.
He said CAT would allocate part of Hutchison-CAT's 850 MHz spectrum band for True Move which does not have the 850 MHz spectrum band.
Hutch has leased the network of BFKT, a wholly owned firm of Hutchison Telecom, to provide the Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) 2000 1-x cellular service in 25 provinces under a marketing contract granted by CAT.
CAT also has its own separate CDMA network in 51 provinces.
CAT and DTAC tested the 3G broadband cellular service on DTAC's 850 MHz spectrum bands and HSDPA technology last month.
Phisal said CAT felt it necessary to glue the private concessionaires to it.
He said last year CAT earned around Bt26 billion from all its private telecom concessionaires.
