US President George W Bush expressed his gratitude to His Majesty the King and the Thai people for the long-standing relations between the two countries.

In his statement marking the 175th anniversary of US-Thai relations on March 20, Bush said Thailand is the United States' oldest ally in Asia and the US is ready to further strengthen the relationship and nurture mutual understanding.
