Philips' smart water purifier

Philips is launching its Intelligent Water Purifier into the Thai market, the second country in Asia after India, with the aim of becoming the leader in the local premium-water purification market in 2009.

Philips targets health-conscious general consumers aged 25 years old and up. Two models are available: WP3892 priced at Bt29,900 and WP3890 at Bt24,900.

The company has set aside Bt100 million for marketing and sales activities.

"The market for health-related products still has potential to grow as consumers are increasingly paying more attention to their health," said Somchai Tawonrungroaj, general manager of the consumer lifestyle sector. "Philips' Intelligent Water Purification is set to become the market leader in 2009."

Currently, the water purification market in Thailand is valued at around Bt300 million with strong growth potential.
