Chester holds on price increase

Chester's Grill may consider raising its food prices if raw material costs have further gone up, said Suwat Songphatanayothin, vice president of Chester Food Co Ltd.

Suwat said that the restaurant has suffered from the higher cost of palm oil and chicken, which is 5 and 10 per cent up from last year, respectively.

"Our margin has dropped by 1 percentage point from the higher cost. We don't want to push the burden to customer by increasing prices. We try to cut other costs, instead," he said. "However, if the costs further go up by another 10 per cent, we may consider raising the prices."

The company has set approximately Bt80 million for the marketing activity this year.
