Major creditors, including Krung Thai Bank that own 95 per cent of the combined loans worth Bt6.2 billion, did not object to the company plan.

Silom Planner was appointed the plan administrator.

But the plan was opposed by eight creditors including Finansa Asset Management and Aberdeen Asset Management, whose loans are 5 per cent of the total loans.

Cheap-call initiative

Cellular operators have agreed in principle to produce about 100,000 SIM cards with a call rate of 50 satang per minute for certain periods as part of a plan to serve the Commerce Ministry's cheap-call initiative.

A telecom industry source said the operators would ask the ministry to distribute the SIM cards. More details will be finalised tomorrow.

Commerce Minister Mingkwan Sangsuwan asked operators to cut call rates to help

low-income people deal with soaring living costs.
