PTT/Bangchak raise diesel price

PTT Plc and Bangchak Petroleum Plc will raise the retail detail price by 50 satang per unit, effective on Tuesday, on continued hikes in global oil prices.

After the increase, all service stations, regardless of the brands, will sell diesel at Bt30.94 per litre. Biodiesel B5 will be Bt30.24.

Both explained that the sale volume has increased exorbitantly as PTT and Bangchak quoted the diesel price below others by 50 satang per litre. The volume at PTT nearly doubled to 30 million litres per day.

Meanwhile, refined diesel price also touched US$131.64 per barrel on Friday, leading to the marketing loss of nearly Bt2 per litre.

Oil futures on Monday also hit a new high, to above 111 dollars a barrel on heightened fears on the US economy.
