The parks are on Bang Na-Trat Road (Km39), Wang Noi in Ayutthaya province and Laem Chabang. The combined area of the three venues is 400,000 square metres.
"Ticon Logistics Park should help boost the revenue of Ticon Industrial Connection to between Bt3.5 billion and Bt3.7 billion this year, a 15-per-cent increase from the previous year," said Virapan Pulges, managing director of Ticon, which owns 100 per cent of the company.
The firm has already constructed warehouses with an area of 50,000 square metres on Bang Na-Trat Road and 20,000 square metres for Wang Noi. It is still unclear how much the subsidiary will generate for the parent company this year, though it is expected to contribute 20 per cent to Ticon's revenue by 2010.
Major clients are electronics and automobile manufacturers, which account for 50 per cent and 20 per cent, respectively.
They include MITS Logistics, which is part of Mitsui SoKo, Japanese auto-parts manufacturer Takata-Toa, NEC Logistics (Thailand) and LG Electronics (Thailand).
"Ticon Logistics Park will spend about Bt3 billion during 2008-2010 to build warehouses to cover the entire 400,000-square-metre area. The investment will come from Ticon Property Fund and factory rents," he said.
Yesterday the firm officially opened the Bang Na-Trat logistics park, 19 kilometres from Suvarnabhumi Airport and 50km from Laem Chabang port.
It plans to invest Bt3 billion on warehouse construction at the park by 2010.
Ten clients have already signed contracts from five to 10 years to rent 45,000 square metres of warehouse space. Ticon Logistics Park generated revenue of Bt10 million for Ticon last year.
"I believe the new facilities will help several industries to reduce transport costs, which are likely to increase continuously," he said.
