Digital content at home will drive demand for storage: IDC

IDC, the global research company, said in a report that the growing amount of digital content stored on home computers will drive the demand for personal storage devices in the Asia-Pacific market.

According to IDC's recent report titled "Asia-Pacific (Excluding Japan) Home Storage Survey, 2007" the proliferation of digital content is creating more opportunities for personal storage devices in the Asia-Pacific region.

The number of Internet users with a home broadband connection, penetration of consumer electronics devices, such as portable MP3 players, gaming consoles, digital cameras, and camcorders continues to grow rapidly, the report said.
