Amadeus has been providing airline ticket reservation systems and a global distribution system for years. It entered into the hotel business two years ago by creating solutions for hotel revenue management, reservation systems, property management, sales distribution and other related services.
The solutions aim to increase hotel operation performance, centralisation, personalisation and engagement, observation and tracking guest behaviour throughout each visit.
Bruno des Fontaines, vice president for Amadeus Asia's hospitality business group, yesterday said about 100 hotels in Thailand were already using its solutions.
"We expect that another 300 to 500 hotels and resorts in Thailand will use our solutions," he said.
According to Amadeus, 77,000 hotels around the world are listed in the system, with an increase rate of close to 30 per cent over the past two years.
Amadeus yesterday reported the latest study about the future of the hotel industry, conducted by US-based firm Inspire Resources. The research found that the number of hotel chain operators in Asia was lower than in the United States and Europe, but would grow in the long term.
