"SCB is the first bank to launch combination savings packages in the market. The Combo Set is a savings product aimed at meeting both short- and long-term savings-plan requirements while providing attractive returns," Yol Phokasub, head of retail banking, said yesterday.

The new Bonus Combo and Smart Combo packages replace the Savings Combo launched last December, which attracted more than Bt25 billion in deposits out of the bank's total deposits of Bt849 billion.

The popularity of the Combo Set reflects customer interest in new savings products in the form of asset allocation. That has prompted the bank to add two new Combo Sets to cater to specific customer demand for savings and money-market investments that diversify risk and offer higher yield opportunities.

The new Combo Set suite consists of the following:

Set 1: Savings Combo is a mix of three- and 12-month deposits. Customers will earn 2.7-per-cent interest on the three-month deposit, and 2.4 per cent on the 12-month deposit for minimum deposits of Bt50,000 per account. The campaign runs until April 9.

Set 2: Bonus Combo is a combination of a 24-month contractual deposit of Bt10,000 per month or 36-month contractual deposit of Bt3,000 per month and a four-month deposit of Bt50,000-Bt1 million. Customers will earn the maximum interest rate of 2.875 per cent with tax-exemption privileges on the contractual deposit and 3 per cent on the four-month deposit. This offer is also available until April 9.

Set 3: Smart Combo joins the tax-exempt SCB Savings Fixed Income Fund and a three-month deposit with a special interest rate that is 0.5 per cent higher than ordinary three-month deposits. This campaign ends on April 30.
