
All the items belong to 12 companies including Saha Group, Lion Corporation, Unilever Thai Trading, Colgate-Palmolive, Kao Commercial, Osotspa, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle and Dumex.
Mingkwan also noted that several fresh markets are offering cooked meals at Bt23-Bt24 per dish, while Top Supermarkets and Makro would keep their cooked meal prices below Bt28.
In his effort to bring down cost of living at times of high oil prices, Mingkwan last week convinced some pork sellers to cut their prices from Bt120 per kg to Bt98. He also insisted on Monday that such effort would not distort market mechanism, as the minimum ex-farm pork price is not changed from Bt58 per kg.
Mingkwan said that the discounted pork is available only at Makro, Tesco Lotus, Big C Supercentre and Carrefour, for only two months. He insisted that without the measure, pork price could rise to Bt150 per kg.
