"The average sale revenue of each outlet rose, despite the economic slowdown and fierce competition," said Rampha Khamhomruen, chief financial officer.
Big C in the year reported the sale revenue of Bt61.6 billion, up Bt3.6 billion or 6.1 per cent from the previous year. Its net profit stood at Bt2.5 billion, up Bt379 million or 17.8 per cent from a year earlier.
The company plans to invest Bt6.2 billion this year to renovate and open 8 outlets, mostly in provinces. The number of branches would then increase its network to 54 to 62 outlets this year. Five of the new outlets would be of compact size, covering about 6,000 square metres each. The remaining three will be developed as "G4" stores, or the stores for Generation 4.
