Pressure on feedmill price hike

Animal feed producers could shut down plants if barred from raising its prices, following the 30-per cent-increase in raw material costs, said Pornsilp Patcharintanakul, chairman of Thai Feedmill Association.

Raw materials account for 85 per cent of production.

The association last year proposed to the Commerce Ministry to raise the animal feed price by 10-20 per cent.

"Without a hike amid rising costs, plants could reduce workforce," he said.
