Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Mingkwan Sangsuwan told reporters after the meeting with pork sellers and fresh market operators that this move is voluntary.
"After two months, pork prices should decline. Then, we would review the measure," he said.
He noted that aside from pork price, on March 10, manufacturers of many product items would also lower their prices. He also insisted that the ministry would maintain this year's inflation to be within the 3-3.5 per cent target.
