Managing director Suree Kunawong yesterday said marketing events, large-scale exhibitions and international conferences nowadays needed highly innovative techniques.
The company decided to focus more on high-technology techniques to be the first choice for new customers as well as existing clients. It also plans to keep its leading position in the integrated event-equipment sector.
PM Centre is eyeing new clients, particularly in Asian countries. Recently, the company won contracts to supply equipment for the Thai Pavilion of the Water Resources Department at the Zaragoza Expo 2008 being held this month in Spain; and the "Legend of Angkor Wat" project in Cambodia, which will take place in December. It is also negotiating for five more events in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Suree said the company planned to invest at least Bt40 million this year: half to maintain existing equipment and develop new innovative tools and half for use in clients' projects.
She expects the event-marketing sector to recover due to political stability, which will increase the equipment-supply business 10-15 per cent this year.
"I believe private-sector projects will remain the key driver in the market this year. Although the political situation is likely to be more stable than it was last year, there are no big projects at the moment," she said.
PM Centre expects its revenue to grow 10 per cent this year,
from nearly Bt200 million last year.
At present, the market value of the event-equipment-supply business is between Bt1.2 billion and 1.4 billion, and PM Centre has acquired a 15-per-cent share.
