Interior Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung yesterday sought recommendations from the Democrat Party for solutions to the southern unrest.

Chalerm issued an urgent letter to Democrat Party secretary-general Suthep Thaugsuban seeking advice from him on how to curb the violence in the South.

The Interior Minister said he was not ashamed or embarrassed about the move because he regarded the issues as national problems. He wants to get information from the opposition because he believes the Democrats know the South very well.

He said he was ready to talk to both Suthep and opposition leader and Democrat Party leader Abhist Vejjajiva on the issues.
