Thaksin's hushed talks before bed time

Thaksin's brotherinlaw Police Lt General Preowpan Damapong, Transport Minister Santi Prompat and banned party executive Pongsak Ruktapongpisal went in to see him before bed time.

Before his return, rumours spreaded that Thaksin and Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej were drifting apart in regard to the construction of the nine train routes for Bangkok commuters, one of the key megaprojects championed by Thaksin before he was ousted from power.

Pongsak was the key architect of the mass transit system under the Thaksin's leadership.

Thaksin's first order of business at 9.30 am today was the 20minute visit to pay his respect to the Supreme Patriarch who is staying at the Chulalongkorn Hospital for medical care.
