The 23rd edition of GasTech will be hosted by PTT Group and staged at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre during March 10-13.
Asia Congress managing director Marcel Ewals said yesterday that GasTech is a business forum for chief executive officers who are decision makers and stakeholders in the oil and gas business.
The international event aims at promoting understanding within the international gas community and providing an opportunity to exchange information, showcase the latest technologies and explore collaborations.
It expects 5,000 participants including high-ranking executives, directors and engineers to join the exhibition.
"Thailand does not have enough potential engineers to support this industry here. Therefore, this exhibition will be their opportunity to follow up on what is going on in the industry," Ewals said.
As host, PTT will show a 3D display of its integrated gas business chain from upstream exploration and production to downstream petrochemicals.
Ewals said GasTech will also generate income of more than Bt1 billion for the country's MICE industry.
It will stimulate Thailand's related industries such as tourism and entertainment, he said.
Asia Congress is also organising the 10th GASEX 2008, the Western Pacific's official platform for the gas industry, at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi in November.
