Hamilton fastest in testing at the Circuit de Catalunya

Barcelona, Spain (dpa) - Lewis Hamilton in a McLaren-Mercedes was fastest Tuesday on the penultimate day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona.

The Briton registered a lap time of 1 minute 21.234 seconds with new team-mate Heikki Kovalainen second fastest, two-tenths of a second slower than Hamilton.

Defending world champion Kimi Raikkonen was third quickest in a Ferrari with Williams-Toyota driver Nico Rosberg fourth.

Spain's Fernando Alonso could only manage 13th in a Renault.
