PTT expects slight profit change in 2008

PTT Plc expects its net profit this year to stand at the same level as in 2007, due to the narrower margins in its products amid tight demand.

President Prasert Bunsumpun said Monday that the narrower margins would squeeze the company's net profits, though revenue this year is expected to rise 10 per cent from last year.

In 2007, PTT posted net profit of Bt97.80 billion.

"The 2008 figures could be slightly lower or higher than last year," he said.

He noted that slow economic growth has impacted the demand for natural gas and petrochemical products, amid greater production capacity.
