Eco-car project

Industry Minister Suwit Khunkitti expects the Board of Investment (BoI) to approve another proposal for an eco-car plant in Thailand.

All seven eco-car proposals received will be approved, he said yesterday, adding that three had already been approved and granted tax privileges. The BoI granted tax privileges to investment projects worth about Bt700 billion in 2007. - The Nation

Meat safety

The Betagro Group yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to implement a "Meat Traceability System for Consumer Protection" programme to ensure food safety.

The one-year pilot project will allow consumers to track the group's production lines from farm to table.

Betagro CEO Vanus Taepaisitphongse said the group's e-traceability software would allow fast and real-time electronic tracking of all its products. - The Nation
