New exotic package for Elite members

Thailand Privilege Card (TPC), issuer of the Thailand Elite Card, will launch an exotic package called "Once in a Lifetime" next week, to encourage members to spend more money in the country.

The company is negotiating with tour operators, partner vendors and hotels about the promotion and offerings. The company will introduce the campaign to a member meeting at its Investment Network Seminar, which is scheduled for Pattaya during March 28-29.

The package cost starts at Bt200,000 to Bt300,000 per couple depending on the destination, length of stay and other additional requests.

TPC's president Rapee Moungnont said the com-pany expected the new offering would attract members to spend more money in the country. "Millionaires from all over the world are searching for exotic packages in Thailand so the company will tap that demand," said Rapee.

Several packages are being devised, including an exotic cruise along the Chao Phya River in Bangkok and the Koh Yao Island discovery tour in Surat Thani province.

Along with this promotion, the company will also upgrade it's website portal to one-stop services by adding more foreign languages such as Korean. Moreover, it will add airline-ticket reser-vation and hotel-booking

systems to the portal to help members make advance bookings.

The company expects revenue from the portal will be Bt30 million in 2009. It says income from the channel will rise to Bt50 million and Bt100 million in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

The company will focus on five major plans this year: making the firm more stable, moving to one-stop services, becoming a high-performance company, encouraging

more investment from overseas and helping the country to capture more high-end tourists.

Meanwhile, the company aims to get 800 new members this year, mostly from Asian countries including China and India as well as the Middle East and Europe.

An individual lifetime membership costs Bt1.5 million, while a corporate card costs Bt3 million. The company expects that 95 per cent of new members will be individuals and 5 per cent buying corporate cards.

The company has 2,496 members from all over the world. Of these, 447 members applied for the card in 2007.

Rapee also said the company was working with the Office of the Board of Investment, the Stock Exchange of Thailand and the Customs Department, to propose that theirs contacts invest in Thailand.

The move is part of the government's Years of Investment and Tourism strategy announced for this year and next year.
