As chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries' refining business club, Chainoi said global oil demand would rise 1.8 per cent from last year's level, which was 85 million barrels a day. He anticipates the world crude-oil price to average $70-$80 per barrel this year. Due to fears of a weakening US dollar, hedge funds will slow down their activities
in the futures markets, he said.
PTTAR posted net profit of Bt18 billion for 2007, from Bt13.2 billion a year earlier, due to higher refining margins and capacity utilisation of its aromatics business.

Song 'has 20%' of Natural Park
Song Watcharasriroj, a big-time stock investor, now holds a 20-per-cent stake in embattled Natural Park, a high-ranking company source said yesterday.
"A group [led by Song] will exercise their right to subscribe to Natural Park's capital-increase share offer to lower costs and lock in short-term profit. The group expects the cost to be around Bt0.20 per share," the source said.
Natural Park earlier announced it was to increase its registered capital by offering 4.03 billion shares to existing shareholders at a ratio of two old shares for one new one at Bt0.05 apiece. The Nation

QH eyes sales of Bt12 billionQuality Houses has announced revenue of Bt10.58 billion and net profit of Bt1.06 billion for 2007.
Of the total, Bt9.05 billion was derived from the sale of detached houses, up 18.5 per cent from Bt7.64 billion in 2006. The remainder came from rental fees.
The company expects new sales to reach Bt12 billion from the launch of 11 residential projects worth Bt1.6 billion this year, president and CEO Rutt Phanijphand said yesterday.

Suvarnabhumi voted 3rd best Suvarnabhumi Airport has been voted one of the world's top 10 airports, according to a Wanderlust Travel Magazine survey.
The votes came from the magazine's 3,000 readers. Suvarnabhumi trails behind Singapore's Changi and Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok, said Suvarnabhumi's general manager Serirat Prasutanond.
