kirati crashes out

Kirati Siributwong's dream of reaching his first ITF semi-final went up in smoke yesterday after the Thai lost to South Korean qualifier Cho Min-hyoek 6-2 6-2 in the US$10,000 STA-LTAT Men's Futures 2 at the Rama Gardens Hotel.

The 20-year-old Thai failed to move beyond the quarter-final in three attempts dated back to 2006. His exit meant no Thais remain in the tournament.

In the other quarter-finals, Czech Roman Jebavy ousted French qualifier Thomas Carrere 7-5 6-2 and Japan's Yuichi Sugita crushed Israeli Amir Hadad 6-1 6-2 in an all-qualifier clash.
