Did you hear about those tornadoes?

Read the dialogue and answer the questions that follow

Man: Did you hear about those tornadoes?

Woman: Well, yeah. Happens every year, doesn't it?

Man: But not like that. Fifty-five people died!

Woman: I can't help thinking it's their own fault.

Man: What? You can't be serious!

Woman: They've got tornado warnings, haven't they? What are they doing out on the road after a tornado warning?

Man: Those warnings are not all that good, you know. It might be only a few minutes after the warning before a tornado hits. And they still can't predict exactly which way it's going to go. It might change direction suddenly.

Woman: But everywhere there's a shelter. A few minutes is plenty of time for them to get to safety.

Man: What if you're out on the road, miles from anywhere?

Woman: Why would anybody want to go out on the road during tornado season?

Man: You can't expect life to come to a standstill for a few months per year!

Woman: They chose to live there, knowing very well that a tornado might come and smash up the place. It's totally irresponsible of them.

Man: I hope you won't ever need any help.

Woman: I know how to live safely.
