"In the past, the company's growth was similar to the research market figure. However, as the new managing director of TNS in Thailand, I plan to do aggressive marketing in order to increase the company's revenue 1.5 to 2 times the average growth of the research market this year," managing director Grant Bertoli said yesterday.

The overall research market here will expand 8 per cent, which in turn will be double the growth rate of gross domestic product, said Bertoli, who assumed his position last month.

He did not reveal the company's revenue figure for last year.

TNS will introduce products and tools, especially digital tools like the increasingly popular Internet, to enhance business surveys in order to satisfy customers, he said.

TNS (Thailand) has some 100 corporate accounts in a variety of businesses such as consumer products, technology, banking and finance, healthcare and media.

The company does not plan to chase significantly more clients this year, but will provide better service to retain those it already has.

TNS is the leader in customised research in Thailand, Bertoli said. The research house provides a variety of tailored services such as consumer understanding, market segmentation and brand positioning, branding and advertising, and shopper behaviour.

"The advertising business in Thailand is the most active among Asian countries. Market research in this country is growing in accordance with that growth," he said.
