AFET appoints new president

The Agricultural Futures Exchange of Thailand (Afet) yesterday announced its board of directors had appointed Nitus Patrayotin as president, replacing Napaporn Kurupasutachai.

AFET appoints new president

Napaporn resigned from Afet last December 15, when Nitus's appointment took effect.

Afet said Nitus was suitable for the post because he possessed the expertise and experience to do the job. Nitus said he was ready to push forward to add liquidity to Afet. He also intends to promote the body to both local and international communities.

Nitus said Afet would also benefit from current rising prices of global commodities.

Nitus was Afet's executive vice president before his promotion. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics from Thammasat University and received both his master's degree and his doctorate from Iowa State University.

Nitus has worked with the Commerce Ministry's International Trade Department for more than 10 years.- The Nation
