Quality Kids expanding locally, abroad

Quality Kids, an institute for developing brain skills and creative learning for children, expects to have up to 20 more branches this year, to serve the rising demand for brain-development programmes.

At present, the company manages seven branches with 800 students. The business expansion will focus not only on the domestic market, but also foreign ones.

The institute, which targets premium children, started business five years ago. However, it suspended expansion two years ago, in order to observe the market direction. Matthew Brady, CEO of Quality Kids and developer of the Advanced Neurological Teaching (ANT) system, yesterday said all new branches to be opened this year would be in Bangkok shopping malls. To build awareness, the company will attend the 12th Business Opportunities and Franchise event from February 28 to March 2 at Muang Thong Thani.

It will also use this year to prepare full-time and part-time teachers to teach in new branches that will open in major provinces nationwide next year, through its 300-hour training course. He said Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen and Phuket were in the initial plan. Quality Kids hopes to double its revenue growth from last year, but Brady declined to reveal any figures.

He said each branch would cost no more than Bt5 million and take 18 months to break even.

Brady said Quality Kids had 11 course levels to develop children aged two to 12 in all necessary skills using its ANT system. The institute focuses on developing fast brains, concentration, self-esteem and happiness. The price of its courses ranges from Bt20,000 to Bt40,000 per year.

Quality Kids expects to start its international business plan by entering China next year, joining with Singaporean international schools that also operate under a franchise system.
