Standard Chartered Bank appoints new CEO

Standard Chartered Bank (Thai) Pcl. announced on Wednesday the appointment of Mark Devadason as President and Chief Executive Officer from February 13, 2008.



Standard Chartered Bank appoints new CEO

Devadason replaces Mee Har Foo who has been President and CEO of Standard Chartered Bank (Thai) for the past two years and moves to the new role of Global Head, Consumer Lending based in Singapore.

Devadason, previously CEO of Standard Chartered Bank in Japan since 2003, has worked in a variety of top-level positions for Standard Chartered Bank throughout the Asia Pacific region and in London over the past 23 years.

His previous Standard Chartered roles have included being the Bank's Group Head Offshore Wealth Management based in Hong Kong, Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking in Thailand in 2000, and Head of Global Corporate Banking, also based in Hong Kong. In Singapore, Mark spent two years as Group Head of Wholesale Banking Training. - The Nation
