Juventus rally to snatch win at Udinese

Milan - Juventus strengthened their hold on third place in the Italian Serie A Sunday, coming from behind to secure a 2-1 win against Udinese.

Andrea Dossena put Udine in front after 26 minutes but second-half efforts from Mauro Camoranesi and substitute Vincenzo Iaquinta secured the win for Juve.

Title holders Inter Milan remain top on 53 points and could stretch their lead over second-place Roma late Sunday at Catania. Roma sit on 48 points thanks to a 2-0 win over Reggina Saturday.

Juve are now on 44 points from 22 games despite falling behind early in the game and being on the ropes through most of the first half.

"This win is worth a lot because the team managed to react," Juve coach Claudio Ranieri said. "They were faster and more determined than us in the first half hour. Then we took control and managed to stop suffering.

"In the second half they had to slow down and it was time to play our game. We did a good job and managed to come back."

Fourth-place Fiorentina drew 2-2 at Atalanta Saturday, retaining the last Champions League berth, but fifth-place AC Milan Sunday closed to within two points by edging Siena 1-0 and can leapfrog them if they win their game in hand.

The Milanese Devils took plenty of risks at home against struggling Siena but managed to clinch their narrow win thanks to debutant Alberto Paloschi, an 18-year-old who scored the winner just seconds after coming on.

A brace from David Di Michele, a former Palermo striker, helped Torino steer clear of the danger zone as they rallied to a 3-1 win against 10-man Palermo.

The Sicily hosts took the lead through Brazilian striker Amauri, who then was dismissed with the score at 2-1 after receiving a second yellow card.

Sampdoria beat Napoli 2-0 to move up to seventh place, while Lazio were one man down as they lost 1-0 at Empoli, a Tuscany side facing relegation as they lie third from last above Reggina and Cagliari.

Livorno and 10-man Genoa drew 1-1, while tail-enders Cagliari also played out a 1-1 draw Parma.
