Vote on controls

Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej said he would call a meeting of the six-party coalition tomorrow to decide if the government should remove controls on capital inflows.

He would consult with coalition partners on whether they agreed with his People Power Party's plan to abolish the 30-per-cent capital reserve rule.

If all parties agreed to scrap the restrictions, Finance Minister Surapong Suebwonglee would have to take it up with the Bank of Thailand, he said.
