Charoen not interested in telecom industry

Liquor tycoon Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi has not been approached by Singapore's Temasek Holdings for the sale of any telecommunications company that Temasek currently holds, said Charoen's public relations advisor.

Thanit Thamsukti explained in a release that Charoen, chairman of TCC Holding, has five lines of business only and will not undertake any business in which he has no expertise, such as telecommunications.

The five business lines are Thai Beverage, Berli Jucker, TCC Land, TCC Capital and Plantheon.

The Nation reported on Saturday that Temasek has approached major business groups including Charoen, in the bid to sell its telecom companies to avoid conflicts in Thailand. - The Nation
