Local fashionistas and celebrities were enthusiastically dressed up in their best clothes for the recently held shows, which featured brightly coloured outfits as well as black attire appropriate for the mourning period marking the death of Princess Galyani Vadhana.
Khunying Natthika Wattanavekin Angubolkul, an ardent consumer of fashion who came dressed in a black Kenzo outfit, says that she also liked this year's colourful floral-print Kenzo outfits.
Fashion is no longer only about apparel, but includes many lifestyle-accentuating accessories, says versatile designer Giorgio Armani. As part of the recent promotional activities, Thai Samsung Electronics Co introduced the "Giorgio Armani-Samsung Phone", a luxurious, touch-screen cellphone.
The Italian designer's latest collection is classic, sleek, and elegant. Promoting such clothes as a recent fashion show were Pavarisa Phenjati, Sikanya Sakdidej Bhanubhand, Sutasanee Khunplin, Dusita Chumsri, Phongsakorn Mahapauraya and members of the Moderndog band.
Chloé presented an exciting fashion show themed "Sex, Sea, and Sand", which featured embroidered white blouses and oversized pants. Chatbencha Nandhabiwat, brand manager of Wanmani Group was seen wearing a purple dress. "With Chloé, you don't have to try too hard to be beautiful," she says. As expected the runaway presented Chloé's feminine and light image, the look was romantic, but has some retro-looks. Chatbencha says that the designs traced back to the time that Karl Lagerfield designed for Chloé.
One of the most attractive shows was Emilio Pucci's outdoor runway at the River, exclusive residence, event along the Chao Phya River. The windy weather helped enhance Pucci's fabulous prints on colourful spring/summer dresses that unfurled a bit in the fresh breezes.
Guests were requested to dress up in vibrant colours and they didn't disappoint the hosts.
The last show by Valentino Garavani, who was celebrating his 45th anniversary in fashion, was crowded with five-star celebrities with high expectations.
Vilasinee Pornprasertthavorn, a distributor of sewing machines, dressed in an exquisite Valentino purple gown, says she especially loves Valentino evening gowns. "This is so refined and elegant. It's a pity that this is his final collection in his fashion career."
Chalita Taochalee Tantiphipop says, "Valentino's dresses are a dream come true. They're so delicate and amazing. We were lucky to see his show."
