The Global Inventor Award has been recognised by many renowned international organisations including Switzerland-based World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), and Hungary-based International Federation of Inventions Association.

The award citation said the Princess had profound knowledge about plant species in Thailand and applied her knowledge in her other skills to calculate scientific results in her efforts to preserve rare species, and plant them successfully.

Reading out the citation at a Bangkok seminar, National Research Council of Thailand secretary-general Anont Bunyarattavej said Her Royal Highness had built many greenhouses to store various plant species.

She had also set up many schools to help train and encourage children to be interested in rare plant species and tried to boost the number of youths who will work to preserve the environment and biodiversity in Thailand.

The seminar, held at Impact Arena in Muang Thong Thani, was attended by 29 organisations for inventors or inventions from all over the world. They include the Germany-based Deutsches Erfinderferband and South Korea-based Korea Invention Promotion Association.
