Samitivej Hospital freezes fees to help struggling patients

Samitivej Hospital on Monday said it would freeze its medical fees for now, to help alleviate the financial burden of patients during these tough economic times, when the prices of goods and oil are skyrocketing and inflation is projected to rise 3.5 per cent this year.

Managing director and CEO Raymond Chong said: "Following His Majesty the King's sufficiency-economy concept, Samitivej Hospital has decided to keep its medical-service fees unchanged.

All our patients will continue to receive the same quality medical services at the same fee. We will absorb the increased cost, for the benefit of all our patients."

Medical services are a necessary part of life. Higher medical fees will have a strong effect on the cost of living. By freezing the fees, the hospital will be able to help patients reduce their financial burdens effectively and help the country at the same time.

Amid the economic challenges, the hospital will continue to adjust salaries for its staff, to help them cope with expenses.

The hospital will absorb increased costs and not pass the burden on to patients.
