Samitivej freezes medical service fees

Samitivej Hospital announced on Monday that it would maintain fees for its medical service to help alleviate patients' financial burden in this tough economic time when consumer goods and oil price keep skyrocketing while inflation is projected at 3.5 per cent in 2008.

Raymond Chong, managing director & CEO of Samitivej, said

"Following His Majesty the King's "sufficiency economy" concept, the Samitivej Hospital has decided to maintain medical service fee. All our patients will continue to receive the same quality medical services at the very same fee. We will absorb the increasing costs for the benefits of all our patients."

Medical service is a necessary part of life. Higher medical fees will have strong impact on consumers' cost of living. By maintaining the fees, the hospital will be able to effectively help patients reduce financial burden, and help the country at the same time.

Amidst the current economic challenges, the hospital will also continue to adjust salary for its employees in order to help its employees maintain quality of life. Despite the expected increasing costs, the hospital will absorb this and not pass on the burden to the patients.
