Lawyer Sukityot Poonsrika-sem said his side also possessed a tape of a conversation in which Srihathai Bovornthammarat, 37, reportedly threatened Dr Chanthat Kolkitkowin, 42, to pay her Bt6 million or face a lawsuit.
Sukityot insisted that his client had performed the surgery according to medical theories and procedures.
When the patient developed side effects, the doctor also willingly fixed them and covered the expenses, he said.
Srihathai had tried several times to extort Bt6 million from Chanthat in exchange for her not complaining about what happened, he said, adding that the doctor also recorded such a conversation as evidence.
Srihathai denied that she had ever asked for Bt6 million from Chanthat.
"It wasn't me! No, I don't know anything about the Bt6 million that's recorded on the tape," she said.
The case emerged on Wednesday when Srihathai filed a civil lawsuit against Vejthani Plc and Chanthat demanding Bt4.64 million in damages plus statutory interest.
She claimed that she suffered a severe infection after undergoing liposuction in January last year and the second operation in April to fix the problem had left her with no navel.
Dr Wimol Sektheera, deputy director of Vejthani Hospital, said the hospital would provide free treatment to Srihathai to remedy the surgery and treat the severe infection.
