Surayud bids farewell

Outgoing Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont on Thursday bade farewell to senior bureaucrats, saying if he could turn back the clock, he would not be prime minister because he wanted democracy and national unity to thrive.

Representing the corps of civil servants, Lord Chamberlain Keokhwan Vajarodaya presented a bouquet of flowers to the outgoing prime minister and thanked him for serving the country at a critical time.

"For working more than a year in office, I thank everyone for your invaluable advice and contructive opinions to assist me to decide on several key issues," he said.
