Oil retailers will on Wednesday raise the retail prices of petrol and diesel, following the confirmation from the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) that their crude oil output would not be increased.

"We need to raise retail prices accordingly," said Chaiwat Chooritti, senior executive vice president of PTT.

All types of petrol including gasohol will charge 30 satang per litre higher, except the octane-91 petrol of which price is up 50 satang. The Oil Fund earlier demanded additional contribution from octane-91 petrol sale of 20 satang per litre.
