Luxury goods imports surged 24.6% growth in 2007

Luxury goods imports in 2007 expanded 24.6 per cent year on year, at the value of US$11.7 billion or Bt409.2 billion in baht term, according to the Commerce Ministry.

Top on the list were home electrical appliances, with the value of $2.9 billion.

Others were miscellaneous utensils, medical equipment, milk and dairy products, cosmetics, and garments. The import value of mineral water and liquor reached $200 million.
