PROTEST RALLY

Calls for Pradit to quit party post

A group of 40 northern MPs and supporters held a rally at Ruam Jai Thai Chart Pattana headquarters yesterday to pressure secretary general Pradit Pattaraprasit to quit.

Udon Thani MP Nattayos Pajuang, leader of the protesters, said they wanted Pradit to resign as secretary general, claiming he showed a lack of responsibility during the last election.

"He promised us he would support candidates but he did not. So, we have to move against him and call other executives not to support him as a minister," Nattayos said.

Pradit was expected to take a ministerial position in the new government. Pradit said he was not worried about the protest, saying a rally was just a part of democracy.
