Parliament votes for the next prime minister today. The opposition will nominate Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, although it is expected People Power's Samak Sundaravej will land the job.

The commission today announces nominees for 74 appointed Senate seats following its background checks of qualifications. The names will be submitted to a selection committee.
