Poompat out of Korea Open
Thai No 2 Poompat Sapkulchananart's ended his campaign in the men's singles of the Korea Open Super Series in the qualifying round yesterday.

The Thai came back from a poor start to beat Taiwan's Hsieh Yu-hsin 15-21 23-21 21-19 in the first qualifier before stumbling at the second hurdle, falling to Jang Young-soo of Korea 21-13 28-26.
Fellow Thai Soratja Chansrisukot also joined Poompat in the trip back home after she was edged past by local hope Bae Yun-hwa 24-22 21-19 in the women's singles.
